Director of Engineering
Contract To Hire
Provides leadership and management of the Network Engineering
team responsible for the engineering design, planning, installation and
upgrades of the enterprise-wide network infrastructure. Establishes engineering
standards for the enterprise-wide network. This includes engineering, design,
installation of the enterprise-wide network to support strategic and tactical
business direction. Maximizes network performance by collaborating with
architects on systems optimization.
with the AMR IT Engineering Vision: Service Delivery (consistency,
governance, stability and reliability), Technology Excellence, and
Teamwork (partnership, communication, cooperation).
the enterprise’s network engineering team. This includes hiring, training,
staff development, performance management and annual performance reviews.
Design – Evaluate new and emerging technologies to drive future
systems/network capabilities. Oversee development of technical design for
critical components and newly approved technologies.
with enterprise architects and key business stakeholders to understand
future business needs.
Optimization – Proposes new technology designs to dramatically improve
systems/network reliability and performance. Identify new and emerging
technologies that will provide significant increases in system/network
enterprise communications network meets or exceed its operational
objectives to other business units by establishing best practice processes
and maximize the value of its third party service providers.
with the enterprise architecture team to ensure alignment between the
network and enterprise architectures, thus coordinating the strategic
planning implicit in these architectures.
collaboratively with the information security team to assist in the
detection and mitigation of security events.
- Flag and escalate business
risks timely to IT Leadership.
with leadership peers to establish and govern the day to day decisions required
to effectively manage enterprise communications network.
reporting and management of key enterprise-wide network infrastructure
metrics including team performance and capacity planning in alignment with
required support and key initiatives.
years of experience in network design and operations.
years of leadership experience at the Director level.
technical knowledge of Cisco networking and network security technologies
knowledge of SDWAN (Viptella preferred).
leadership experience managing network engineering teams in both a
technical and non-technical capacity.
partnering with third party providers, MSPs.
knowledge of future technology trends.
written and oral communications skills.
that can work with little direction.
Certified engineer, (CCIE and CCNP desired).
with Palo Alto Firewalls, Juniper, Fortinet.
certification desired, ITIL/ITSM experience required.
degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience.
